Touchdown Films is a London-based production company founded in 2016 by filmmaker and producer John Osborne. We are dedicated to creating high-quality film, television and digital content for audiences worldwide.
Our recent releases include the documentary special APOLLO 8: THE MISSION THAT CHANGED THE WORLD and the factual series PHOTOS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD. We currently have several projects in play on both sides of the Atlantic, including celebrity biography series ARTIST TO ICON for US network Ovation.
Touchdown have a first-look development and distribution deal with Banijay Rights.
Touchdown Films founder John Osborne has spent over 20 years making acclaimed, high-rating, primetime television for UK and US broadcasters. He started his career in development at Darlow Smithson and IMG, before making his directing debut in 2005 with the Banff-nominated sports documentary ONE NIGHT IN MAY for Sky One. In 2009, John directed HISTORY’s most-watched UK documentary HILLSBOROUGH REMEMBERED. In 2011, he produced the Showtime feature doc ROCK ‘N’ ROLL EXPOSED, hailed “one of the hottest rock films at SXSW” by Rolling Stone. In 2016, John produced the BBC Four film THE STORY OF SKINHEAD, described as “fascinating” by The Guardian and “terrific” by The Telegraph. He has executive produced many more hours of factual television for Channel 4 and Sky Arts. John is also a former head of football at Perform Group and has spearheaded branded entertainment campaigns for Dr. Martens, Fred Perry, and more.
