Touchdown Films was founded by John Osborne, a filmmaker and executive producer who has spent two decades making critically acclaimed, high-rating, primetime television for UK and US broadcasters. John started his career at Darlow Smithson and IMG, before making his directing debut in 2005 with the Banff-nominated sports documentary One Night in May for Sky One. In 2009, he directed the History Channel’s highest-rating UK documentary Hillsborough Remembered. John then produced a string of documentaries including the Showtime feature doc Rock ‘N’ Roll Exposed, hailed “one of the hottest rock films at SXSW” by Rolling Stone, and the BBC Four film The Story of Skinhead, described as “fascinating” by The Guardian and “terrific” by The Telegraph. John is also a former head of football at the world’s biggest digital sports content business Perform Group (now DAZN) and has spearheaded branded entertainment campaigns for Dr. Martens, Fred Perry, and more.
